Soap hunk gets sassy for Crystal Light

With Crystal Light sales lagging for 2011, Kraft decided to scrap its current ad campaign and come up with a "sassier approach." With a peek at PASSIONS alum Charles Divins' hunky chest in their newest spot, which begins airing today, sales are sure to skyrocket!

David A. Gregory, OLTL earn near-sweep of 13th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards

David A. Gregory took top honors as the 13th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards were announced live Wednesday.

The OLTL stud, who also won the site's summertime Adonis contest, won Best Hunk and four other categories for the second consecutive year. He also converted his nominations for Best Torso, Best Pecs, Best Abs, and Best Butt into wins. Gregory's win in the top category puts him in select company: only OLTL's David Fumero and DAYS' James Scott have also won the Best Hunk award twice. Gregory's win for Best Torso was particularly noteworthy: with over 63% of the vote, it was the most dominant margin of victory in awards history.

Gregory thanked his fans via Facebook Wednesday after his wins. "Thanks everybody for all your votes," he said. "I'm truly humbled and honored. It's a wonderful way to say goodbye to a wonderful time of my life. You're the best."

It was a banner night for the now-cancelled OLTL, with 10 victories in all. The series won its third Hunkiest Soap trophy.

Fumero, whose win for Best Arms in last year's awards was actually a frequent point of parody throughout 2011, repeated his win in that category and made him the only nominee to send Gregory to a loss this year. Fumero also won the Best Voice prize--the first time in that award's six-year history that it wasn't won by James Scott.

OLTL also pulled wins for co-stars Nic Robuck (Best Face, for the second year in a row) and newcomer Andrew Trischitta (Best Hair).

Other soaps did manage to pull out some wins. B&B saw all-time wins leader Brandon Beemer win Most Shamefully Clothed honors, as well as Best Eyes for a record 6th consecutive year. His co-star, Scott Clifton, won Best Smile.

Though sidelined in many other races, DAYS did claim two victories in two major categories. Eric Martsolf won Best Hunk Over 40 in his first year of eligibility, while Aussie Bren Foster won Hunkiest Newcomer.

Former GH star Greg Vaughan repeated his win for Most Missed Soap Hunk, just as Jonathan Jackson is departing that role. (Hint hint, GH!)

The 13th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards Roundtable!

The ballot for the 13th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards has just made its debut, and as has become tradition, three of my site's contributors (Jason, DC, and Soapgal) held their annual roundtable in which they discussed the nominations, explained why certain nominees got their votes, and predicted the winners in each race. We'll see how smart they were on Wednesday, December 21, when the winners are revealed live at soaphunks.net/chat at 10pm ET/7pm ET. (Hint: last year they were WAY off the mark! lol)

Jason: Well, here we are again.

DC: ...unlike many of the daytime soaps .

Jason: Good point, DC.

Soapgal: I know.

Jason: Glad to celebrate their hunkery while we still can.

Soapgal: Yeah.

DC: Definitely.

Jason: So, what do you two think of this year's nominees overall? Is Soapy on crack, or are you happy with them?

Soapgal: I didn't have much problem with them overall, but I didn't like some categories.

DC: Since I was responsible for coming up with evidence for the nominees, I have to say they all seemed pretty worthy. I have a few gripes, but we'll get to those later.

Jason: LOL...Well, let's get to the categories then.

Jason: Best Face....It is probably a surprise to some that Andrew Trischitta nabbed a couple of nominations, including this category.

DC: I still think he has a baby face, but it's not a bad mug.

Soapgal: Yeah, he's not ugly, but I don't think he has one of the five best faces in daytime.

Jason: This is a category where I really had to let the evidence speak to me.

DC: It was really down to 2 choices for me, Adam Gregory or Nic Robuck.

Soapgal: This was the category I was least enthusiastic about. DC, those were my top two choices as well, and I voted for Adam Gregory.

Jason: Ultimately, I voted for Casey Deidrick, but I think Adam Gregory will win.

DC: Interesting. I voted for Nic. I think Adam will probably win as well.

Jason: Soapgal, who do you think will win?

DC: it would have been nice to get a bit more diversity in there for sure.

Soapgal: I guess Adam Gregory, but most B&B people don't do well in this contest, do they? The evidence probably will help Adam, though.

DC: Beemer does well.

Soapgal: True, but isn't that because he was on days first?

DC: it certainly doesn't hurt

Jason: Yes, the less tech saavy folks tend to watch B&B.

Soapgal: Yeah, those fans are pretty passionate.

Soapgal: I just had to go with my man Mark Lawson in this category. He has great eyes, in my opinion.

Jason: I have voted for Beemer in the past, but I went with Mark Lawson this time as well.

DC: This was another category that came down to two possibilities for me. I love Mark Lawson, despite the character assassination on OLTL in recent months, but it was between Adam Gregory & Chandler Massey. I studied the evidence on this one long and hard! Those two seemed to be the best, in my opinion. I ended up voting for Chandler.

Soapgal: He has great eyes, too. Really, I think all the guys were worthy.

DC: Yes, definitely. It's great how all their eyes actually compliment their faces.

Jason: But I think this will once again be Beemer's to lose.

Soapgal: Yeah, I agree.

DC: I am calling for an upset victory by Chandler Massey.

Jason: Whoa, going out on a limb!

DC: Yes!

Soapgal: I'm curious to see how he will do this year. He's beginning to get a higher profile on DAYS.

DC: Hey, DAYS fans are passionate! I agree, Soapgal. That will be interesting.

Jason: You had to use your eyes to decide on Best Eyes, but for the next category, you needed your ears. Whose voice made you swoon this year?

Soapgal: I picked David Fumero. I always thought he had a sexy voice.

DC: I chose the reigning champion himself, James Scott!

Jason: I actually picked the new voice this year, Bren Foster.

Soapgal: And I must give props to Soapy for including someone who had a nice singing voice, Scott Reeves. That was a refreshing addition.

DC: Yes, these were good nominees as well.

Soapgal: I agree.

DC: Bren does have a great voice. He was my second choice.

DC: James Scott will win!

Soapgal: Yeah, no doubt.

DC: And it will be well-deserved.

Jason: I would have to go with Scott for the win, too.

Jason: Well, whose teethy grin is well deserved for Best Smile?

DC: I voted for Chandler Massey. Now I didn't plan this DAYS trend before I looked at the evidence, but it seems to be turning out that way so far. I actually turned against one of my all-time favorite soap hunks, Jordi Vilasuso in favor of Chandler's infectious grin.

Soapgal: I voted for Scott Clifton. I'd like to see a non-hunky guy win one of these awards. Plus, he has a great smile.

Jason: I was torn between Deidrick and Clifton. But I ultimately went with Deidrick

DC: I have to say this category was a tough one as well, though, because all 5 guys have killer smiles and they don't mind showing them. Evidence was quite easy to find.

Soapgal: By the way, you did a GREAT job collecting evidence, DC.

DC: Thanks, Soapgal!

DC: It will be interesting to see if the DAYS fans split the vote between Massey & Deidrick.

Soapgal: Yeah, I have no idea who's more popular.

Jason: I think because of that split, Vilasuso could pull an upset.

DC: I would love to see that, Jason.

DC: I am going to peg Chandler Massey to win, though.

Soapgal: I think I'll pick Jordi to win, too.

Soapgal: I voted for Adam Gregory, but this was another category I wasn't too excited about.

DC: This one wasn't too tough for me since I'm not a fan of one of them, and I think the hair on two of the others is a bit blah. I voted for Casey Deidrick. I like his 'do these days.

Soapgal: I bet he wins, too.

Jason: I think fans will either love or hate Andrew Trischitta's hair. Not much in between there.

DC: I'm not a big fan of the mop top on Trischitta, though he wears it well.

DC: As for who will win, I think this is a major toss-up category, and it's anyone's victory. I am going to randomly guess that John-Paul Lavoisier will win. Folks do like their blonds!

Soapgal: True, DC.

Jason: I think it's a toss up as well. I'm going with Deidrick.

DC: Carrying all those babies around in Llanview is quite an arm workout! Lawson's biceps are fantastic.

Soapgal: And thank you, Jason for pointing out that the EVIDENCE supported Mark. Soapy gave me such grief about that.

Jason: But do you think “Llanview's Best Arms” will win again this year?

DC: David Fumero and the other guys are quite worthy to be nominees. However, I think Llanview now has a new pair of Best Arms.

Soapgal: Hear, hear! Too bad the show won't be around to tout Mark's win, if it happens.

DC: That's true.We do have one guarantee. Someone from DAYS or OLTL will win this one.

Soapgal: LOL

Jason: LOL. True. Soapy will demand more of a prediction than that, though. Who wins?

DC: Mark Lawson wins!

Soapgal: I think this will begin the big David A. Gregory win parade.

DC: You're probably right, but I'll hold out hope.

DC: This one was another toughy for me. Oddly enough, since we just mentioned his parade beginning, I voted for David A. Gregory.

Soapgal: I threw a vote to David A. Gregory. This category in general usually doesn't excite me much.

Jason: Soapgal's always the butt of Soapy's jokes anyway.

DC: Oh, this category is always one of my favorites! I have to say though, after looking at the evidence, I really really wanted to slap Josh Kelly's nice derriere

Soapgal: LOL. The only year i liked it is when one guy --Was it Dominic Zamprongna? -- had posed nude.

DC: We've had several fully nude nominees before. This year, the boys were a bit more reserved, but still booty-ful. I think David A. Gregory deserves props for bending over the most of any soap hunk this year! It's like he had a checklist of categories he wanted to be nominated for and showed off those assets accordingly.

Soapgal: Was there a year when someone was on Nip/Tuck and was nude?

DC: Thad Luckinbill.

Jason: Personally, I think if David A. Gregory could top James Scott in the Adonis contest, his bottom will top him here, too.

DC: I believe David A. Gregory will win as well.

Soapgal: I agree. I think David A. Gregory wins this category.

DC: Kudos to Joshua Morrow for being nominated once again. He's dominated this category for quite a few years. I almost gave him a vote, as his butt still looks great!

Jason: I agree, DC.

Soapgal: It does!

DC: He may be the actor most nominated for Best Butt in the history of the awards.

DC: This one was tough, and it was hard to narrow down, I voted for Adam Gregory. His abs are fantastic

Soapgal: Add another one to David A. Gregory's win total.

DC: LOL.

Jason: All worthy nominees, but no contest for me: David A. Gregory. And I agree, I think he will win as well.

DC: I think David will win, but I hope Adam pulls the upset. As long as one of the Gregorys win, I'll be happy.

DC: I voted for Jordi Vilasuso. I realized just how much I missed having his gloriously healthy pecs on my television screen when he showed them off again.

Soapgal: LOL, he does have nice pecs.

Jason: I almost went for Jordi as well, but I ultimately decided on David A Gregory once again.

DC: I have to say despite his smaller frame, Chandler Massey has some massive pecs! I almost voted for him.

Soapgal: Yes, he does!

DC: In the end, I think this is David A. Gregory's category to win as well.

Jason: I think you're both right.

Jason: Since I voted for him in Abs and Pecs, I had to go with David A. Gregory as well.

And I think Gregory will win, too.

DC: I must say, Jason Cook's chances may be hurt by the fact that since the nominations came out, he's been shirtless quite a bit. He must have heard about this travesty and looked to rectify it immediately! LOL!

Soapgal: LOL.

DC: It's been two years since he had a good shirtless scene, and he's had two in the last couple weeks.

Jason: “Llanview's Best Arms,” and now this? Who says the soap writers don't pay attention to this site?

DC: LOL.

Jason: I will die of shock if Beemer doesn't win here.

DC: Yeah, I don't think the competition will prove to be as popular. Who doesn't want to see Beemer with his clothes off all the time??

Soapgal: Yeah, unless those Goddard fans have something to say about it.

DC: That could be the only roadblock for him, Soapgal.

Soapgal: Didn't he finish higher than Beemer in this year's Adonis contest?

DC: Yes, Beemer was totally off the radar, thanks to B&B sidelining him so much.

Jason: Are you being a rebel with your prediction Soapgal?

Soapgal: Yes, I am!

DC: I also voted for the super hunky, Sean Blakemore, in one of General Hospital's few nominations. He is a very sexy hunk and a great addition to GH and to our site! I doubt he'll win, but he is more than deserving.

Soapgal: I could not agree more.

Jason: My mouse really wanted to click on Josh Kelly, but Bren Foster is just to die for.

DC: Ultimately, I think either Kelly or Foster will probably win this.

Soapgal: Yeah, my money is on Foster.

Jason: I think it will be Foster as well.

DC: I will also call Bren Foster as the victor on that one.

DC: Trischitta is cute, but not quite hunky enough, and Peter Porte has still not been shirtless on Y&R yet, so he's not so well-known.

Jason: Soapy really debated if Trischitta belonged here or not.

Soapgal: Yeah, in my opinion, Trischtta is not a hunk, he's a cute kid. And I had never heard of Peter Porte until this contest.

DC: I think the fact that both Porte & Trischitta are not-so-sexy villains could work against them as well.

Soapgal: True.

Soapgal: LOL, if you replaced Thad Luckinbill with Eddie Cibrian, you'd have my exact thoughts!

DC: It was a sentimental choice, of course. Thad is notorious for never winning our site's awards, until his final year of eligibility, when he finally won one.

Soapgal: Yeah, that's right, LOL.

Jason: Though I wanted to vote for Justin Hartley or Eddie Cibrian, I had to give my love to Greg Vaughan!

DC: This was the category I had the most complaints about. I still don't think Matthew Bomer is known for his time on daytime at all. It would have been better served to have someone a bit more prominent & popular, like Adrian Bellani or Jake Silbermann in this category.

Jason: Hard to call a winner here, though. I think Cibrian is most in the spotlight, so I say he will win.

DC: Greg Vaughan shocked me last year by pulling out a victory. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again.

Jason: You may very well be right, and I hope you are. Greg's got devoted fans.

Soapgal: Yeah. this is an interesting category because none of these guys were on soaps that have fans who vote heavily in this contest.

DC: That's true Soapgal I think it will come down to who is most known outside of daytime, because of that. The fact that only 2 of those soaps even exist now could be a factor as well. I think it helps Thad's chances since Y&R fans would still remember him!

Jason: Who do you predict, Soapgal?

Soapgal: I'd say Cibrian.

DC: I voted for Shawn Christian. It was actually an easy choice. His steamy romance on DAYS has been very good about showing off his hot body. At 45, he's still got it!

Jason: No cancelling each other out either between the DAYS hunks. I think Eric Martsolf will win this thing.

DC: I really think Shawn Christian will pull out the win. It won't surprise me if that other DAYS guy wins, though.

Soapgal: I'm hoping for Martsolf, and I'll go ahead and say he'll win.

DC: Yes, DAYS is the hunkiest! I voted for them. I looked over my ballot again, and realized I had voted for DAYS hunks the most and they are a hot bunch, so I voted for the show here. I don't think OLTL is as hunky as it once was. They have 3-4 really hot hunks, while DAYS sports like 8 really hot hunks for me.

Jason: I have a feeling DAYS will win, DC.

Soapgal: That wouldn't surprise me.

DC: Good, because I'm picking them to win as well.

DC: Though I believe that David A. Gregory will win, I voted for my sentimental favorite, the super hunky Jordi Vilasuso.

Soapgal: He still has it, that's for sure.

DC: Yes, he does. With my luck, he'll probably get 5th place!

Jason: LOL.

Soapgal: That wouldn't surprise me, unfortunately.

Jason: The videos helped me decide on David A. Gregory, who I also think will win.

Soapgal: I think it's a clean sweep for David A. Gregory.

DC: Yes, I agree.

DC: Bravo to the newcomers, Foster & Kelly again for breaking through in this category as well.

Jason: It's worth pointing out here that 4 of out of the 5 Best Hunk nominees are first timers. David A. Gregory's the only one who's been here before.

Soapgal: That's cool.

DC: It should make us hopeful for the future of daytime hunkery!

Jason: Should being the key word.

Soapgal: Well, maybe for foster

DC: Considering 3 of these guys won't be eligible next year unless they join another soap, it's a bit sad.

Soapgal: Yes, it is.

DC: I'm hoping these awards results won't be so bittersweet, but it may just be that way.

Soapgal: I know. It's hard not to think about the fact that two of these shows won't be around this time next year.

Revival cancelled: Prospect Park not producing OLTL, AMC online

DAYS' Foster, OLTL's Gregory lead nominees for 13th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards

DAYS freshman Bren Foster and OLTL sophomore David A. Gregory both scored six nominations to lead the 13th Annual Soaphunks.net Award nominations, announced Wednesday at soaphunks.net. 80 nominations were announced covering 16 categories.

Both Foster and Gregory placed in the top category--Best Hunk--along with B&B's Adam Gregory, OLTL's Josh Kelly, and AMC's Jordi Vilasuso.

This is the first year since 2006 where four of the five Best Hunk nominees are competing in that category for the first time. Only OLTL's Gregory has previously been up for Best Hunk, having won the title last year.

A total of 36 soap hunks received nominations this year. With 24 nominations, OLTL led all shows for the fourth consecutive year, helping ABC lead the networks with 38 nominations. NBC scored 22 nods, with CBS at 20.

Other points of interest:

In AMC's final broadcast year on ABC, the sudser managed five nominations, three of them going to Vilasuso. Cameron Mathison's nod (for Best Hunk Over 40) marks his 38th career nomination, lengthening the record he already held. And the soap itself picked up its eighth nomination for Hunkiest Soap, an award it hasn't been up for since 2007. AMC finishes with a total of 116 nominations and (thus far) 22 wins.
Austin Peck's 22nd career nomination (Most Shamefully Clothed for ABC's OLTL) makes the actor the first hunk in history to pick up a nomination for appearances on all three networks. Peck's 21 previous nominations came from NBC's DAYS and CBS' ATWT.
AMC's Jordi Vilasuso sets a record this year for the longest gap between nominations. His three nods in 2011 are his first in a decade, since receiving two bids in 2001 for GL.
By referring to him on the show SEVEN TIMES as having won the fictional title of "Llanview's Best Arms," OLTL was clearly shouting-out to star David Fumero's win in that category last year in the Soaphunks.net Awards. And 2011 finds him up in that category yet again, with a record on the line: A win would give him four victories in that category, which would be the most all-time.
Just three months shy of his 17th birthday, OLTL's teen heartthrob Andrew Trischitta becomes the youngest nominee ever with his three nominations.

Former Y&R hunk Wilson Bethel has shed his daytime bad boy image (and his shirt) to show he is not above raising awareness for climate change. In fact, the stud, currently starring on The CW's "Hart of Dixie," took to the airwaves in a PSA about the television network's gracious efforts to be more eco-friendly by eliminating "wasteful wardrobe" and spreading the message that true environmental change will only happen when everyone addresses the problem head-on...and shirt-off!

Nominations for the 13th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards will be announced on November 16, 2011. But before they are, here's your annual chance to get in our heads prior to my deciding who's in and who's out. Unlike Adonis, the summertime contest here at soaphunks.net that often boils down to a popularity contest among rabid fanbases, the nominees for the annual Soaphunks.net Awards are personally decided by the editors of soaphunks.net. We try our best to base the nominations on actual displayed hunkiness in 2011..NOT general hotness. You can review the past 12 years of nominees and winners here.

We try to be as fair as possible and nominate without regard to anything other than qualifications in 2011. But we're human, so it's possible we could miss someone who is worthy. Therefore, we turn to soaphunks.net fans and ask them to submit suggestions for who should--and shouldn't--make this year's list of nominees.
We're truly interested in hearing what you guys are thinking in each of the categories. Feel free to e-mail us with suggestions of whom you feel is a must-have in a certain category...or someone who had better not be there. Please remember that we are looking for thoughtful suggestions across all soaps and multiple soap hunks, so any submissions we receive that say "So-and-so should be in every category" will be ignored.

The same 16 categories will be up-for-grabs this year, and should reflect hunkiness for 2011 only. Don't suggest someone who was a great hunk in 1999 but now, well, isn't. Feel free to review the caps from the entire year on each actor's page on soaphunks.net, as we often use site caps as evidence of worthiness in each category.

Please note: AMC may have been cancelled, but since it aired for more than half of the calendar year, it and its male stars are eligible.

Here's a quick cheat sheet for all the categories:

Best Hunk: The top award. In order to make it in this category, a nominee must have had noticeable shirtlessness on their soap in 2011. This person needed to have multiple, plentiful shirtless scenes in 2011. We'll have to fill up a two-minute "For Your Consideration" clip for each guy with various shirtless video footage. Will your suggestion meet that requirement?
Hunkiest Soap: Tell us what soap you think had both the widest array of hunks in the cast, and/or what soap had the most shirtlessness per capita in 2011.
Best Hunk Over 40: You can consult the site's actor pages for many birthdates. As long as he turns 40 before November 16, he's eligible. Some guys are over 40 that you don't realize!
Most Missed Soap Hunk: Which former soap hunk would you most like to see return to daytime? They can be recent exits, or long-ago departures. Here, we tend to gravitate towards nominating guys who have achieved success in some other arena during 2011, such as a primetime show or movie, but not always.
Hunkiest Newcomer: Which newbies caught your eye in 2011? To be eligible, freshmen had to have their first major appearance in 2011, or perhaps the very end of 2010. (We'd also like to hear whether you think OLTL's 16-year-old Andrew Trischitta is too young to include in this category.)
Most Shamefully Clothed: We know he has a great body under all those clothes, but his soap never proves it! Permanently stuck in their shirts throughout 2011, the Most Shamefully Clothed nominees could have saved their shows a fortune in wardrobe costs.
Best Torso: Best Torso refers to "everything on the front," from the neck to the waist.
Best Pecs: Manboobs alone.
Best Abs: Always a competitive category, Best Abs contenders are pretty easy to spot...just look at his stomach. If you can easily count to six, he's a keeper.
Best Butt: To successfully evaluate a fine derriere, one must have proper evidence. We are especially picky in the Best Butt category that we have pic/vid evidence to back up the nominations.
Best Arms: Bulging biceps get them in every time.
Best Voice: Whose voice alone makes you melt? Not necessarily reserved for guys with accents, but those are often hard to top. We will pay particular attention to American suggestions here, though.
Best Face/Best Eyes/Best Smile/Best Hair: These should be pretty self-explanatory.

Llanview's losing its Best Arms

Sad news--OLTL's David Fumero is leaving Llanview for the third time in his career.

The show has announced that Fumero's Cristian Vega will exit the sudser several months ahead of the soap's final ABC episode. He will be written out in a storyline featuring Erin Torpey, who formerly played the Jessica Buchanan who had a teen romance with the hunky actor.

Fumero is one of the most lauded soap hunks in daytime history. He has 25 Soaphunks.net Award nominations to his credit, with seven wins. He was the first actor to win this site's top award--Best Hunk--twice.

Last year, he won in the category of Best Arms--a fact that wound up making the show as a running gag. Fumero's character has been referred to in OLTL dialogue as having won the title of "Llanview's Best Arms" at least eight times.

David A. Gregory wins Adonis 2011

A new Day for Muldoon!

After 15 years away from DAYS, the hunky Patrick Muldoon is set to return as Austin Reed, the role he originated back in 1992. Muldoon joins a number of DAYS vets returning to the canvas, as part of the restructuring plans of executive producer Ken Corday. This fall, the sudser will experience a casting facelift, in an effort to return it to more character-based stories. The return of a heartthrob like Muldoon could certainly entice former viewers to return.

After leaving Salem, Muldoon went on to steal hearts on television in the primetime soap Melrose Place and in feature films, including Starship Troopers. Muldoon's daytime departure paved the way for the introduction of Austin Peck, who took over as Austin, a role he played for just over 10 years. Peck now resides in Llanview in the recurring role of OLTL's Rick Powers. While Muldoon's Austin was a furry-chested hottie, Peck's Austin did away with his chest hair, giving fans a smooth, muscle-bound Adonis.

We'll be keeping our eye out for Austin Reed's current chesty choice when the character returns in the fall. Muldoon will reappear in Salem, along with his former co-star, Christie Clark, this September.

BIG NEWS: OLTL & AMC saved!

Hallelujah! ABC has confirmed today the rumors that Agnes Nixon's recently cancelled sudsers OLTL and AMC will indeed live on via the Internet. ABC has sold licensing rights to both shows to the Prospect Park media group and production company.

More details will be forthcoming regarding how the long-running soaps will change--and stay the same--when they make their transition to online format.

More sad news recently surfaced in the world of soap hunks. GH's popular Australian stud, Ingo Rademacher, recently released a statement confirming his departure from Port Charles. "After 15 years on GH portraying Jax I must say goodbye. I'm fired. Even though this was not my call, I think my GH days were almost up anyway," he said.

Rademacher continued with these words of gratitude: "I would like to thank everyone at GH, the producers, directors, crew, my fellow actors and ABC/Disney for making my 15 years enjoyable and fun. It was always a great place for me to work and I will have fantastic memories. I would again like to thank my fans and especially my 'Jax Angels' who have been there for me, supporting me in every way, from Day One. Thank you!"

Rademacher has received 11 career Soaphunks.net Award nominations, with one win. G'day, mate! Here's hoping you find new work soon...clothing optional.

"Femme Fatales" finds Foster

Femme Fatales is a new late-night anthology series from Cinemax about powerful, sexy, and dangerous women. Each episode of Femme Fatales features a new cast, including several soap stars.

This week's episode, "Something Like Murder" airs Friday, May 27 at 11:00PM ET, and features hunky DAYS newcomer Bren Foster. The episode is about two women who conspire to murder the older, dull, wealthy husband of one of them. But once they've collected the "ransom" for Charles' ill-fated return, the double-crosses begin...

38th Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations

The usual suspects and some strange head-scratchers dominated the list of nominees for the 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. GH led with 21 nominations, while Y&R claimed 20.

Both of those soaps are up for Best Drama Series, along with AMC (13 noms) and last year's winner, B&B (14 nods).

OLTL, generally considered to be the best soap on the air, received scant recognition thanks to their annual bungling of tape submissions. (Really, OLTL? You submitted "Starr X'ed Lovers?") The show received 12 nominations, nothing bigger than the supporting races.

NBC's lone soap, DAYS, received five nominations. The now canceled ATWT got four nods in its last at-bat.

Among soap hunks nominated were DAYS' James Scott and Chandler Massey, GH's Jason Thompson and Chad Duell, Y&R's Billy Miller, and B&B's Scott Clifton.

TRAGEDY: ABC cancels both AMC and OLTL

Terrible breaking news to report: ABC announced Thursday that it is cancelling both AMC and OLTL from its daytime lineup, leaving it as a one-soap network with only GH remaining in tact.

Daytime Confidential is reporting that AMC will wrap in September 2011, to be replaced by "The Chew," a food/cooking show. OLTL will conclude in January 2012, to be replaced by "The Revolution," a health & lifestyle transformation show.

Obviously we at soaphunks.net are just sick about this, as we will be left with only four soaps in all of daytime (GH, DAYS, Y&R, and B&B). Of particular sadness to me is the OLTL cancellation, because that was MY soap, not to mention by far the hunkiest soap currently out there.

OMG!!! Soaphunks.net shout-out on OLTL!

Imagine how I squealed with delight when on the 04/08/2011 episode of OLTL, soaphunks.net got a shout-out!

In this scene, Rama (Shenaz Treasurywala) compliments Cristian (David Fumero) on his "Best Arms 2010," referring to Fumero's win in that category during the 12th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards. (And yes, Mr. Fumero, it was indeed a well-deserved win.)

My mouth fell open when she said it, as it hit me that they were talking about MY SITE! I am so stoked!

For that matter, I'm considering the entire episode as a love letter to yours truly, as it was filled with not only Fumero's award-winning guns, but also shirtless scenes from every other OLTL actor to ever win the Soaphunks.net Awards' top prize of Best Hunk: Mark Lawson (2008) and David A. Gregory (2010). (Fumero took top honors in 2001 and 2002.) There was even shirtlessness from newcomer Josh Kelly, who's a surefire nominee for 2011.

Sigh...I just loved it. Thank you so much, OLTL!

First it was Maxwell Zagorski. And now the powers-that-be at OLTL have hired another gorgeous model as a day player. On the 04/01/11 episode, studly Chris Campanioni (aka Chris Cuba) played the pivotal role of a porn actor shooting the latest entry in the "Hide The Pepperoni" canon.

Foster child: There's a new hunk in Salem

As if Nadia Bjorlin doesn't have enough hunks to contend with! Now comes word that Australian actor and martial arts master, Bren Foster, will soon be roaming the streets of Salem. Not much information yet on Foster's character, except that his name is Quinn, his first scenes will be shared with Bjorlin's Chloe, and he will debut in May. More importantly, Foster is hot as hell and has already made his debut here! DAYS, get this man's shirt off ASAP!

Cane mutiny: Just WHAT is going on with Y&R's Daniel Goddard?

Okay, see if you can follow all this.

In late 2010/early 2011, rumors starting circulating that Y&R megastud Daniel Goddard had been fired from the show. The powers-that-be had no official comment, but given the soap's unceremonious history of killing off its long-time hunks (think Don Diamont and Scott Reeves), it seemed believable.

Fast forward a few weeks and indeed, Goddard's Cane Ashby apparently met his maker when his character was murdered on the Feb. 3rd episode. He has not been seen onscreen since.

This development sent off a firestorm among Goddard's fiercely loyal fanbase, who began avalanching Y&R with demands for his return. Online petitions now sport signatures in the tens of thousands, and the actor's personal Facebook and Twitter pages are overflowing with support for the Aussie-born hunk.

What's odd is that the show STILL has had no official comment on the status of the actor. Has the 10-time Soaphunks.net Award nominee really been let go, or is this all an elaborate cat-and-mouse game being used to hide a story twist in which Cane is very much alive? (I'm personally betting on the latter.)

Nonetheless, this level of outrage over a firing among fans is notably rare in daytime, and Y&R would be wise to take note. If Goddard really was let go, he should be brought back. And if he wasn't fired, he needs to be front-burner more often. (Preferably without a shirt, but that's just me.)

And as if Goddard didn't have enough stress with all of this, the actor was injured during a stop on Soap Cruise 2011, in which his leg got on the wrong end of a fight with a moped. See the evidence below...and ouch. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery, Daniel!

Comic strip: Zagorski's 3rd OLTL appreance just as shirtless as last two

Okay, so I'm about a week behind with posting this, but model Maxwell Zagorski (also known as the hottest day player in OLTL history) was back in action on the Feb. 2nd episode as a bachelorette party stripper. And while his previous pair of appearances had him posing as a nude art class model, this time he was allowed at least a little wardrobe...a pair of skimpy police boxer briefs.

One hunk in, and another one out. Following the news that hunky Austin Peck is headed to OLTL comes word that 5-time Soaphunks.net Award nominee Kyle Lowder, has been let go from B&B.

Lowder has been a popular fixture on this site, beginning with his popular role on DAYS as Brady Black. He has spent the last four years at B&B as Rick Forrester.

Says Lowder of his ouster, "...it was handled in the most respectful way and I have huge respect for Brad [Bell, executive producer/head writer]. I had a great four years there and I thank him for the opportunity. And now, onto the next thing." Let's hope the "next thing" does not include a shirt. Cheers!

Austin Peck gains new Life!

In breaking soap news, Austin will bring his award-winning pecs to Llanview! That's the word from Soap Opera Digest, which is reporting that Austin Peck is joining One Life to Live in a new contract role.

Peck is best known for his stints on DAYS and ATWT. The 9-time Soaphunks.net Award winner scored a Best Hunk award for his role as the often-shirtless Austin Reed on DAYS. Peck followed up that role by showing off not just his hot body, but also his acting chops, when he took on the role of Brad Snyder on ATWT. Now, Peck will complete the network trifecta as he joins the hunky cast of OLTL.

Peck made waves during his ATWT stint due to his reported off-screen romance with co-star Terri Conn, who also recently joined OLTL as the scheming Aubrey. There's no word yet on who Peck will be playing, or whether he'll interact with his real-life love on the series. One thing's for sure: OLTL has a tradition of making good use of their soap hunks and it shouldn't be long before Peck is showing off his pecs in Llanview.

Peck begins filming at the end of January.

DAYS misses the Mark

It appears the new year isn't getting off to the right start in Salem, as news of the firing of Mark Hapka has been made public. The young soap stud will be leaving DAYS this year. The soap released Hapka from his role as Nathan Horton after almost 2 years. Hapka's good looks will no doubt be missed in Salem and by his fans.

Hapka hit the ground running in 2009 when he won two Soaphunks.net Awards, including Hunkiest Newcomer.

With the recent news of Finn Wittrock's impending departure from AMC, we're hoping this is not a sign of things to come for soap hunks in 2011.

Zagorski returns to OLTL, and forgets his clothes again

Gregory wins 5 Soaphunks.net Awards as OLTL leads way

In an overall strong showing for ABC's One Life to Live, newcomer David A. Gregory won five awards, including Best Hunk, when the 12th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards were announced live Wednesday.

It's only the second time that a soap freshman has won the site's top award, following co-star his Mark Lawson's 2008 feat. Gregory also converted wins for Hunkiest Newcomer, Best Torso, Best Pecs, and Best Butt.

Hearing about his wins, Gregory offered his Facebook followers thanks and indicated he was grateful to his fans and quite flattered. His five wins tied the record for most wins in a single year.

OLTL won for the second time as Hunkiest Soap, and Gregory's on-screen brother--fellow newcomer Nicolas Robuck--won Best Face. David Fumero, a two-time Best Hunk winner himself, won his first Soaphunks.net Award in six years with a victory for Best Arms. The win marked Fumero's seventh career win.

Last year's Best Hunk winner, B&B's Brandon Beemer, registered two more trophies for Best Abs and Best Eyes. Those are his fifth consecutive wins in both categories, and they put him in first place all-time for career wins, with 15. DAYS' James Scott, the winner for Best Voice, is right behind with 14 career wins.

GH's Steve Burton won Best Hunk Over 40 in his first year of eligibility, while former co-star Greg Vaughan achieved the night's most dominant win as Most Missed Soap Hunk, with over 45% of the vote in that race.

Other winners: DAYS' Shawn Christian (Most Shamefully Clothed) and Eric Martsolf (Best Smile) and B&B's Zack Conroy (Best Hair).

Voters continued the drought for GH's Tyler Christopher, who now is 0-for-13.

The 12th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards Roundtable!

The ballot for the 12th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards has just made its debut, and as has become tradition, three of my site's contributors (Jason, DC, and Soapgal) held their annual roundtable in which they discussed the nominations, explained why certain nominees got their votes, and predicted the winners in each race. We'll see how smart they were on Wednesday, December 15, when the winners are revealed live at soaphunks.net/chat at 10pm ET/7pm ET.

Jason: I know some are upset that Galen Gering is nowhere to be found.
Soapgal: Eh, Galen doesn't do it for me, so that didn't bother me.
Jason: And Galen's been rewarded plenty in previous years.

DC: I mentioned that I just voted tonight, and I gave my vote to Nic Robuck. I was actually swayed by the evidence. He's a cutie I totally went in thinking Massey or Thad Luckinbill, but then my mind got changed.
Jason: All good choices in this category, in my opinion. Okay, face for Ms. Soapgal?

DC: I think Chandler Massey will win.

Jason: We all went with someone different here. I had to go with David A. Gregory. As he says in his Best Hunk clip, "All steel!"

DC: OLTL certainly can be known as "The Gun Show."

Don't lecture Duhamel about his device

Even soap hunks have difficulties flying. TMZ is reporting that AMC-grad Josh Duhamel was kicked off of a flight headed from NYC to Kentucky. Despite repeated requests from a male flight attendant, Duhamel refused to turn off his BlackBerry before takeoff.

Upon the attendant's third request to power down his device, Duhamel reportedly laughed. At that point, the still-grounded plane left the runway and headed back to the gate, where two officers escorted Duhamel off the vessel. The already delayed flight was put further behind schedule, due to Duhamel's antics, angering other passengers.

A rep for the actor told TMZ that Duhamel was simply texting about his flight being delayed. "He's sorry," the rep added. Maybe Duhamel just needs a little shirtless time on a soap to put him in a better mood.

David A. Gregory, OLTL lead 12th Annual Soaphunks.net Award nominations

With a near-record seven nods, OLTL breakout sensation David A. Gregory led all nominees Wednesday as the 12th Annual Soaphunks.net Award nominations were announced live at soaphunks.net. 80 nominations were announced covering 16 categories.

Gregory placed in the top category--Best Hunk--along with B&B's Brandon Beemer, OLTL's David Fumero, DAYS' Eric Martsolf, and GH's Brandon Barash.

Beemer won Best Hunk last year, while Fumero won in both 2001 & 2002. Beemer is now the only person to be nominated for the top award in four consecutive years, while Fumero's mention ties the record for most Best Hunk nominations ever with five. This is Martsolf's third career Best Hunk nod, and Barash's debut appearance here marks GH's first inclusion in the top category since 2005.

A total of 38 soap hunks received nominations this year, down one from 2009 but still among the most ever. With 25 nominations, OLTL led all shows for the third consecutive year, helping ABC lead the networks with 41 nominations. CBS scored 20 nods, with NBC right behind with 19.

Other points of interest:

As the world stopped turning for ATWT this year, so did its luck with the Soaphunks.net Awards, placing in only two categories: Best Butt for Billy Magnussen and Most Missed Soap Hunk for Austin Peck. ATWT finishes with a total of 64 nominations and (thus far) 12 wins.
For the first time in awards history, one soap has managed to claim four of the five available spots in a category. The Best Arms race this year pits OLTL's Fumero, Gregory, Mark Lawson, and Max Tapper all in the same category.
After 2009 finally saw wins for perennial bridesmaids Thad Luckinbill and Shemar Moore of Y&R, now GH's Tyler Christopher widens his stance in the role of the Soaphunks.net Susan Lucci. Christopher's Best Arms nomination is his lucky 13th with no wins.
For the first year in Soaphunks.net Awards history, AMC's Cameron Mathison was not nominated in any category. Mathison had placed in at least one category every year since the first awards in 1999. Still, the former Best Hunk winner holds the all-time record for most nominations with a whopping 37.

Former DAYS and ATWT hottie Austin Peck has found a new business partner: bodybuilding champion and two-time competitor on the hit CBS reality show Big Brother, Jessie Godderz.

According to the website Wrestle Zone, Peck (a six-time nominee & two-time winner for Best Pecs on this site's Soaphunks.net Awards) appears in Godderz' workout DVD The Mr. PEC-Tacular Jessie Godderz Arm & Chest Workout, which is expected to be released by Thanksgiving.

As if that project weren't exciting enough, Peck and Godderz just finished filming a television pilot in New York called The Peck-ing Order.

Fan club luncheon to the Max

The folks at Daytime Confidential recently reported on the One Life to Live Fan Club Luncheon held October 9 at The New York Helmsley Hotel.

Beef was definitely on the menu, as hunky Max Tapper was generous enough to lift his shirt to satisfy the appetites of his hungry fans.

One thing is a bit puzzling, though. Why didn't David Fumero, David A. Gregory, and Nicolas Robuck follow Max's lead? If that had happened, no one could have possibly left the Helmsley hungry!

Nominations for the 12th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards will be announced on November 17, 2010. But before they are, here's your annual chance to get in my head prior to my deciding who's in and who's out. Unlike Adonis, the summertime contest here at soaphunks.net that often boils down to a popularity contest among rabid fanbases, the nominees for the annual Soaphunks.net Awards are personally decided by the-powers-that-be here at this site...namely, me. You can review the past 11 years of nominees and winners here.

I try to be as fair as possible and nominate without regard to anything other than qualifications in 2010. But as I'm human, it's possible I could miss someone who is worthy. Therefore, I turn to soaphunks.net fans and ask them to send me suggestions for who should--and shouldn't--make this year's list of nominees.
I am truly interested in hearing what you guys are thinking in each of the categories. Feel free to e-mail me with suggestions of whom you feel is a must-have in a certain category...or someone who had better not be there. Please remember that I am looking for thoughtful suggestions across all soaps and multiple soap hunks, so any submissions I receive that say "So-and-so should be in every category" will be ignored.

The same 16 categories will be up-for-grabs this year, and should reflect hunkiness for 2010 only. Don't suggest someone who was a great hunk in 1999 but now, well, isn't. Feel free to review the caps from the entire year on each actor's page on soaphunks.net, as I often use site caps as evidence of worthiness in each category.

Please note: ATWT may have been cancelled, but since it aired for more than half of the calendar year, it and its male stars are eligible.

Here's a quick cheat sheet for all the categories:

Best Hunk: The top award. In order to make it in this category, a nominee must have had noticeable shirtlessness on their soap in 2010. This person needed to have multiple, plentiful shirtless scenes in 2010. I'll have to fill up a two-minute "For Your Consideration" clip for each guy with various shirtless video footage. Will your suggestion meet that requirement?
Hunkiest Soap: Tell me what soap you think had both the widest array of hunks in the cast, and/or what soap had the most shirtlessness per capita in 2010.
Best Hunk Over 40: You can consult my site's actor pages for many birthdates. As long as he turns 40 before November 17, he's eligible. Some guys are over 40 that you don't realize!
Most Missed Soap Hunk: Which former soap hunk would you most like to see return to daytime? They can be recent exits, or long-ago departures. Here, I tend to gravitate towards nominating guys who have achieved success in some other arena during 2010, such as a primetime show or movie.
Hunkiest Newcomer: Which newbies caught your eye in 2010? To be eligible, freshmen had to have their first major appearance in 2010, or perhaps the very end of 2009. (And yes, since OLTL's David A. Gregory wasn't eligible here in 2009, he is eligible in 2010.)
Most Shamefully Clothed: We know he has a great body under all those clothes, but his soap never proves it! Permanently stuck in their shirts throughout 2010, the Most Shamefully Clothed nominees could have saved their shows a fortune in wardrobe costs.
Best Torso: Formerly known as Best Chest, hopefully this category's new name will clear up some confusion with the Best Pecs category. Best Torso refers to "everything on the front," from the neck to the waist.
Best Pecs: Manboobs alone.
Best Abs: Always a competitive category, Best Abs contenders are pretty easy to spot...just look at his stomach. If you can easily count to six, he's a keeper.
Best Butt: To successfully evaluate a fine derriere, one must have proper evidence. I am especially picky in the Best Butt category that I have pic/vid evidence to back up the nominations.
Best Arms: Bulging biceps get them in every time.
Best Voice: Whose voice alone makes you melt? Not necessarily reserved for guys with accents, but those are often hard to top. I will pay particular attention to American suggestions here, though.
Best Face/Best Eyes/Best Smile/Best Hair: These should be pretty self-explanatory.

OLTL showcases Maxwell Zagorski's model behavior

Soaphunk regulations prevent me from adding day players to the main site at soaphunks.net, but much like T.J. Hoban's appearance on PAS, once in a while we get someone who simply cannot go unrecognized. We had such an event on the Sept. 29th episode of OLTL, when Farah Fath's Gigi is asked to greet the nude model for her art class. He's played by the devastatingly gorgeous model Maxwell Zagorski, who has worked for Abercrombie & Fitch, among many others. Ladies & gents, yowza! It's quite an accomplishment when David Fumero is rendered the second-hottest man in the room.

Y&R runs out of Luckinbill

Say it ain't so! Rumors of Thad Luckinbill's exit from The Young & the Restless have been rampant in recent months but it now appears official as Luckinbill's wife & co-star, Amelia Heinle, has confirmed via interview that her hubby is departing the daytime drama.

After 10 years with Y&R, his character, JT Hellstrom, will end his run when Luckinbill's contract expires. Thad Luckinbill has also been a fixture here on Soaphunks.net where he became affectionately known as the 'Susan Lucci' of the Soaphunks.net Awards. After 18 nominations, over 7 years, Luckinbill finally scored a win for "Most Shamefully Clothed" in 2009.

It's not clear when Luckinbill will last air on Y&R but it will certainly be a sad day for all his fans, despite his diminished attention on the show in recent years. We hope greener pastures lead to much bigger things for one of daytime's finest.

Jordi Vilasuso returns to daytime; Adam Mayfield exits

Former Guiding Light hunk, and Daytime Emmy winner, Jordi Vilasuso is returning to the soap world.

Vilasuso is set to join the ranks of All My Children in the new role of Griffin Castillo. Vilasuso's first airdate is scheduled for November 15, meaning he'll pop up just in time for November sweeps. Vilasuso's gorgeousness helped raise the temperature in Springfield. Let's hope he does the same in Pine Valley.

While Vilasuso remains one of this blogger's favorite soap hunks of all-time, fans of Greg Vaughan may be disappointed to know he also tested for the role of Griffin.

As if by fate, AMC will add a hunk while booting another. Adam Mayfield, who has spent just over a year in the role of Scott Chandler, has been fired. Mayfield made his debut in April 2009 and received a Soaphunks.net Award nomination for Hunkiest Newcomer that year.

Don't expect his character to disappear, though. It's been reported that the role of Scott Chandler will be recast, in order to take him in a "new direction."

So long Adam...and hello Jordi!

Always eager to do his part to help a good cause, GH's Brandon Barash recently came up with an innovative draw to raise money for the MDA: his chest hair. "To shave or not to shave?" That is the question Barash is asking his fans.

Donations can be made to either "team." The team with the most donations over $10,000 will determine whether or not Barash breaks out the razor. He will post pictures, video, and messages along the way, with the outcome being posted after September 17th.

Do your part to help out a good cause and help decide the fate of Brandon's "chia chest" here.

Leyden lands in Genoa City

One half of the popular "star crossed lovers" will soon depart from the soap. No word on when Buddy will last air, but look for the character of Cole Thornhart to exit alive, but not necessarily well.

The Bold get a bit more Beautiful

Actor/model Adam Gregory is coming to daytime in a surprise casting shake-up at The Bold & the Beautiful.

The 23-year-old will take over the role of Thomas Forrester, replacing Drew Tyler Bell, who won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor earlier this year. Gregory is best known for his roles in the teen flicks 17 Again and The Hannah Montana Movie, as well as the primetime teen sudser, 90210.

B&B will be the actor's first daytime gig.

According to the show's producers, the recast is set to move the character in a new direction. We hope that means he'll be shirtless as often as possible!

Adam Gregory is set to make his daytime debut this September.

ATWT's Jake Silbermann okay with 3rd place Adonis finish

Soap guru Michael Fairman sat down for an interview with ATWT's Jake Silbermann, who reflected not only on the curtain closing on Oakdale but also his third place finish in Adonis 2010 here at soaphunks.net.

Silbermann finished behind winner James Scott of DAYS and runner-up Dominic Zamprogna of GH. He finished in 2nd place in Adonis 2009.

AMC casts hunky newcomer!

For a while it seemed OLTL was the only soap hiring new hunks.

Well, Pine Valley is now set to add a new resident. All My Children has hired Trent Garrett in the new contract role of Asher Pike. The character is expected to heat things up with Pine Valley's teen scene.

Garrett is no stranger to teen drama, having previously appeared on 90210. AMC will be his first daytime role. The 20-year-old model has also done work with Sutherland Models.

Let's hope the Summer heat takes its toll on Asher's wardrobe!

Brandon's still ABC's Buddy

Apparently, Buddy's Twitter account was hacked last week, and the news about his departure reported in a previous blog entry was false.

Jeff Branson is Young and Restless

Former AMC and GL hunk Jeff Branson is set to move to Genoa City. The Emmy winner will join several of his former co-stars, including hunks Billy Miller and John Driscoll, in his new home at The Young & The Restless.

Branson recently signed with Y&R for what is described as a "breakout role" that is part of a major storyline to be played out over the Summer. Next week, Branson will make his debut on the CBS soap as Detective Ronan Malloy, a new character who will be partnered with Chance (played by Driscoll).

Jeff Branson won the 2009 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role on GL and is set to bring his acting chops to Genoa City beginning June 22nd.

OLTL loses a Buddy

Llanview may be seeing an influx of new hunks with the recent debuts of Nicolas Robuck and Lenny Platt, but one young star is on his way out of the ABC soap.

Brandon Buddy announced via Twitter that he will not be re-signing with OLTL when his contract expires later this year. Buddy will depart his role as Cole Thornhart after almost 4 years. It's uncertain when Buddy's last airdate will be but he is expected to continue until his contract expires. There has been no comment from OLTL on the departure or if the show plans to recast.

OLTL's hunkiest college TA, Robert Ford (David A. Gregory), is about to score a family member when brother James comes to town. Newcomer Nicolas Robuck makes his Llanview debut the week of June 7th.

As you can see from the photo, hunky bodies apparently run in the family.

James is said to become involved in a storyline with Starr Manning (Kristen Alderson), and his arrival probably means that the dastardly (and nearly-murdered) Ford probably won't be written off. Yay!

Tuc Watkins moves back to Llanview

Fans are used to David Vickers popping in and out of Llanview, but Tuc Watkins is ready to make things a bit more permanent. It was announced this week that Watkins will return to OLTL under contract. His popular character, David Vickers, was last seen in Llanview back in January.

Watkins will be pulling double duty as he is also set to appear off-Broadway in a production of White Lies.

Desperate Housewives, which Watkins also appears on, is currently on its Summer hiatus.

No details about the length of the contract have been revealed or his first airdate, but fans can expect to see Watkins back on daytime soon.

Michael Muhney exits Y&R

After months of speculation, Michael Muhney confirmed via Twitter that his role on daytime's No. 1 soap, Y&R, has come to an end. Muhney was signed to a one-year contract after taking over the role of the villainous Adam Wilson from Chris Engen back in June 2009.

Muhney may have been axed by Y&R, but his character, Adam, was last seen as a burnt corpse after an explosion. The character's death has kicked off a murder mystery set to play out over the next few months.

Turner's last dance

A new Corinthos heads to Port Charles

GH fans should prepare themselves for a bit of a change, as news broke today that Michael Corinthos is once again being recast. Drew Garrett, who has played the role of the teenaged Michael for the last year, is being replaced by daytime newcomer Chad Duell.

It was announced today that Garrett's one-year contract with GH has not been renewed and he has already taped his last scenes. Garrett, who has become a fan favorite since taking over the role of Michael Corinthos, was amongst the Emmy pre-nominees for Outstanding Younger Actor, which were announced just last month.

His replacement, Chad Duell is best known for roles on the Disney shows Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck. Duell will make his first GH appearance on April 20.

Well, Nelson Branco confirmed what we already knew. B&B's Brandon Beemer is a hunk! This site's 2009 Best Hunk was recently named TV Guide Canada's Sexiest Man alive for 2010.

Marston admits resisting arrest in fight

Former OLTL star Nathaniel Marston has admitted resisting arrest in a plea deal that resolves charges stemming from a fight at a New York City gas station.

Marston pleaded guilty Thursday to the misdemeanor charge. He has completed an anger-management program, and his case is expected to be closed without jail time or probation.

Marston was accused of attacking three men with a metal crate and kicking at police officers during the scuffle in October 2007 at a service station. Police say one officer was bruised, and one man suffered a leg injury.

The 34-year-old actor played Dr. Michael McBain on the ABC soap opera from 2003 to 2007. He was dismissed after his arrest.

OLTL Breaking News: The End of Kish!

The axe has fallen once more in Llanview. Sources are confirming that OLTL has fired both halves of the popular couple known affectionately by fans as Kish.

Scott Evans and Brett Claywell have reportedly both been let go by the soap and are expected to make their final appearances in April. Evans has been on recurring status with the show, while Claywell joined the show as a contract player. The duo portrayed one of daytime's most talked about gay couples, Kyle Lewis & Oliver Fish.

The news comes as a shock to many fans, as the daytime drama experienced increased media visibility due to the Kish storyline. OLTL has been heralded by critics for their positive portrayal of the duo and their developing romance. This news comes on the heels of Scott Clifton's exit from the show, announced just days ago.

Beemer, DAYS sweep 11th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards

A clean sweep for Brandon Beemer gave the B&B stud his first win as Best Hunk in the 11th Annual Soaphunks.net Awards, announced live Wednesday.

Beemer won all five categories in which he was nominated. In addition to the top award, he also won trophies for Best Pecs, Best Abs, Best Butt, and Best Eyes. The abs & eyes awards are his fourth consecutive wins in both of those categories.

Hearing about his wins, a wry Beemer told TVGuide Canada's Nelson Branco, "It's extremely flattering. Soap fans are so loyal. I was very impressed with the voter turnout because my competition was, um, stiff. As long as I make people happy, especially in these dark times, I'll continue to take my shirt off while acting my heart out."

Aside from Beemer's wins, everything else went to Sony's soaps, DAYS and Y&R. The well-organized DAYS voting bloc, in particular, managed a first-ever shutout of nominations leader ABC. (ABC voters managed a reverse rout in 2005.)

DAYS claimed the Hunkiest Soap title for the sixth time and saw five of its stars win individual awards: Shawn Christian (Best Hunk Over 40 & Best Arms), Mark Hapka (Hunkiest Newcomer & Best Face), Eric Martsolf (Best Chest), Galen Gering (his fourth Best Hair win) and James Scott (Best Smile & Best Voice).

The wins for Scott and Beemer moved both into a tie for the most Soaphunks.net Awards ever. Each actor has a career 13 wins from 18 nominations.

Voters also ended the staggering droughts of two Y&R hunks this year as Thad Luckinbill & Shemar Moore both won their first awards. Luckinbill's win as Most Shamefully Clothed was his first in 18 nominations (a record). Memo to Y&R: Get Luckinbill naked now! Moore's win as Most Missed Soap Hunk was his first in 13 attempts and was no doubt aided by Darius McCrary's recent casting as Malcolm Winters.

Those wins now move GH's Tyler Christopher into the role of the Soaphunks.net Susan Lucci, as now he holds 12 career nominations but no wins.
