The Ford Brothers fess up

Michael Fairman, the Barbara Walters of the soap world, recently sat down with the hottest onscreen brothers in daytime, OLTL's David A. Gregory, Nicolas Robuck, and Lenny Platt, to ask them all the important hard-hitting questions, including among other things, how the studs feel about their plethora of shirtless scenes. Rev up your engines and check out Michael's interview with the Ford Brothers here.

Bye, bye Buddy (This time, we mean it)

It seems the story about OLTL's Brandon Buddy's Twitter account being hacked into was false, and his June Tweet was actually true. One half of the popular "star crossed lovers" will soon depart from the soap. No word on when Buddy will last air, but look for the character of Cole Thornhart to exit alive, but not necessarily well.

The Bold get a bit more Beautiful

Actor/model Adam Gregory is coming to daytime in a surprise casting shake-up at The Bold & the Beautiful.

The 23-year-old will take over the role of Thomas Forrester, replacing Drew Tyler Bell, who won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor earlier this year. Gregory is best known for his roles in the teen flicks 17 Again and The Hannah Montana Movie, as well as the primetime teen sudser, 90210.

B&B will be the actor's first daytime gig.

According to the show's producers, the recast is set to move the character in a new direction. We hope that means he'll be shirtless as often as possible!

Adam Gregory is set to make his daytime debut this September.

ATWT's Jake Silbermann okay with 3rd place Adonis finish

Soap guru Michael Fairman sat down for an interview with ATWT's Jake Silbermann, who reflected not only on the curtain closing on Oakdale but also his third place finish in Adonis 2010 here at soaphunks.net.

Silbermann finished behind winner James Scott of DAYS and runner-up Dominic Zamprogna of GH. He finished in 2nd place in Adonis 2009.

Check out the interview here, and thanks Michael for the shout-out!

AMC casts hunky newcomer!

For a while it seemed OLTL was the only soap hiring new hunks.

Well, Pine Valley is now set to add a new resident. All My Children has hired Trent Garrett in the new contract role of Asher Pike. The character is expected to heat things up with Pine Valley's teen scene.

Garrett is no stranger to teen drama, having previously appeared on 90210. AMC will be his first daytime role. The 20-year-old model has also done work with Sutherland Models.

Let's hope the Summer heat takes its toll on Asher's wardrobe!

Trent Garrett makes his daytime debut on August 13.

Brandon's still ABC's Buddy

Fans of OLTL's Brandon Buddy can breathe a sigh of relief. ABC released a statement today stating that Buddy "remains on contract at One Life to Live."

Apparently, Buddy's Twitter account was hacked last week, and the news about his departure reported in a previous blog entry was false.

Jeff Branson is Young and Restless

Former AMC and GL hunk Jeff Branson is set to move to Genoa City. The Emmy winner will join several of his former co-stars, including hunks Billy Miller and John Driscoll, in his new home at The Young & The Restless.

Branson recently signed with Y&R for what is described as a "breakout role" that is part of a major storyline to be played out over the Summer. Next week, Branson will make his debut on the CBS soap as Detective Ronan Malloy, a new character who will be partnered with Chance (played by Driscoll).

Jeff Branson won the 2009 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role on GL and is set to bring his acting chops to Genoa City beginning June 22nd.

OLTL loses a Buddy

Llanview may be seeing an influx of new hunks with the recent debuts of Nicolas Robuck and Lenny Platt, but one young star is on his way out of the ABC soap.

Brandon Buddy announced via Twitter that he will not be re-signing with OLTL when his contract expires later this year. Buddy will depart his role as Cole Thornhart after almost 4 years. It's uncertain when Buddy's last airdate will be but he is expected to continue until his contract expires. There has been no comment from OLTL on the departure or if the show plans to recast.

Buck stops here: OLTL preps new hunk's debut

OLTL's hunkiest college TA, Robert Ford (David A. Gregory), is about to score a family member when brother James comes to town. Newcomer Nicolas Robuck makes his Llanview debut the week of June 7th.

As you can see from the photo, hunky bodies apparently run in the family.

James is said to become involved in a storyline with Starr Manning (Kristen Alderson), and his arrival probably means that the dastardly (and nearly-murdered) Ford probably won't be written off. Yay!

So long, SOAPNet

It's bad enough when a soap gets cancelled, but what about an entire soap channel getting the axe? Daytime Confidential is reporting breaking news that Buena Vista is ditching SOAPNet for Disney Jr., a new network that will be pitched to the pre-school set. More details available here.

Sigh...

Have you driven a Ford lately?

OLTL's new resident hunk, David A. Gregory, is looking mighty fine in the soap's new series of mid-show bumpers. There's also a shirtless one with David Fumero, but I haven't located it online yet. In due time, my friends. Until then, enjoy these five seconds of heaven...

Clifton makes a Bold move

Never one to stay out of work for too long, Scott Clifton has already landed a new gig, this time on a new network. Clifton has signed with The Bold & the Beautiful. No word yet on what role he will play or what storyline he will be involved in. Perhaps Clifton has seen how often Brandon Beemer is half-naked and wants to join in the shirtlessness?
